FORMATS ACCEPTED FOR DVD REPLICATION

When submitting CSS encrypted masters, please indicate which of the following applies:

• The encryption keys are present on the DLT
• The encryption keys are present on a customer supplied floppy disc
• Amtech is to provide the encryption keys - please indicate the following:
  • Total number of VTS (Video Title Sets)
  • Total number of VTS for each DLT - DVD-5 and DVD-10
  • In the case of DVD-9, the total number of VTS for both DLTs combined

   

DLT SPECIFICATION

• Data must be identified as DVD-5, DVD-9, or DVD-10, and further as layer 0 or layer 1 if applicable.
• DLT must be recorded with ANSI labeling
• Do not write DLT in compressed mode

DVD TECHNICAL SPECS

typically 3.5 Mbit/second average. The storage figure above is based on this rate. A higher rate will offer a better quality picture, but less time available on the disc.

Dolby Digital AC-3 bit-rate: 384 kbit/s

PCM* Audio: 16, 20, or 24 bit
48 or 96 kHz sampling rate

Maximum audio bit rate is 6.144 Mbit/second

(*PCM = Pulse Code Modulation)

DVD-Audio spec

DVD-Audio is a different product that plays on special DVD-Audio players. DVD-Audio does not play back on a standard DVD-Video player.

DVD-Audio contents are stored in the AUDIO_TS folder on the DVD disc.

DVD-Audio permits multichannel sound in PCM (uncompressed) format up to 24 bit at 192 kHz sampling rate. Meridian Lossless Packing can be used to increase the storage capacity.

Sample rate: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 192 kHz
Sample size: 16, 20, or 24 bit

Maximum total bitrate is 9.6 Mbit/second for PCM audio

Channels: 6 for sample rates up to 96 kHz, 2 if the sample rate is 176.4 or 192 kHz.
