CMC PRO (TY Technology) high quality shiny silver CD-R. 100 pieces packed in a plastic cakebox. 

This is the classic Taiyo Yuden-style blank CD-R, featuring their renowned high-quality manufacturing and stable recording dye assuring a long life. For example, Taiyo Yuden discs we have in our archives from 10 or 15 years ago are still as good as new, whereas many other brands have degraded to the point that they are unreadable. Now made by CMC on the same equipment and with the same material as was used by Taiyo Yuden.

Taiyo Yuden invented recordable CD technology and this is their main professional-quality product to which all other discs are compared.

Top surface: Shiny silver surface from 38mm to 118mm diameter, with a thin lacquer layer on top.

Labelling: Silkscreen, Thermal printers (Prism, etc...), soft markers like Sharpies, paper labels (paper labels are not recommended since they may shrink and peel over time, causing damage to the disc. 

Scratch resistance: EXTREMELY POOR - the top lacquer layer can be easily scratched in car or home use, causing the reflective layer to be permanently damaged. For this reason we do not recommend this disc for general use. Choose a disc with a printable surface offering much better protection against scratches. Do not store these discs in plastic sleeves - the plastic might stick to the top surface and cause it to peel.

Bottom surface: green-blue colour 

Archival quality: Excellent (30+ years) with proper storage and handling 

Typical Recording block error rate (BLER): These discs should record and playback with a BLER lower than 2.0 when recorded at 24X or lower speed. 

Recording Speed: These discs should record and be readable even when recorded at the maximum recording speed (48 or 52X) and even when recorded with 80 minutes of music or 700MB of data. Most cheap discs will fail this test! 

Compatibility: Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs are proven to offer excellent compatibility with a wide range of CD players, including car CD players and old home CD players.
